Amongst many of the amazing experiences we will be spending a day in Kannauj India's perfume capital
The city of Attars (Ittars), absolutes, oils and brews...

- White jasmine (motiya) and vetiver (khus) smells of Summer

- Mitti attar, which captures the scent of wet earth, makes me dream of an impending monsoon.

Heena and musk attar for winter

'A small town on the banks of the Ganges, Kannauj has been guarding the secret of attar, the traditional Indian perfume, for centuries'.

Kannauj was one of the early kingdoms which existed in northern India. Even though the early Rajputs ruled in Kannauj, it is today a part of the state of Uttar Pradesh which is the land that is predominated by Rajputs. The Rajputs were Hindu warrior clans, and the word 'rajput' itself literally means 'the son of the king', with the people being known for their valour.

We will also experience...

- Food and perfume experience with a royal family in Lucknow

- Visit to the breath taking Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal of Agra is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, for reasons more than just looking magnificent. It's the history of Taj Mahal that adds a soul to its magnificence: a soul that is filled with love, loss, remorse, and love again. Because if it was not for love, the world would have been robbed of a fine example upon which people base their relationships. An example of how deeply a man loved his wife, that even after she remained but a memory, he made sure that this memory would never fade away. This man was the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, who was head-over-heels in love with Mumtaz Mahal, his dear wife. She was a Muslim Persian princess (her name Arjumand Banu Begum before marriage) and he was the son of the Mughal Emperor Jehangir and grandson of Akbar the Great. It was at the age of 14 that he met Mumtaz and fell in love with her.
